Back to the Future was released in 1985, became the biggest box office hit of the year, and went on to become a pop cultural phenomenon. Directed by Robert Zemeckis and executive produced by Steven Spielberg, the film is a science fiction comedy adventure that tells the tale of Marty McFly – a teenager thrown back in time – meeting his parents as 17 year old high school students.
